  • Beauchêne River Sanctuary closed all season. Taggart Lake chain closes September 16.

American Plan

Main Lodge and Cabin

Available only at the Lodge (including Bird Chalets), which opens Saturday May 5, and closes Sunday October 14, 2011.

All dining at the White House. The White House and Bird Chalets are available for stays of any length, with no required days of arrival or departure.

All other *Lodge facilities are available for 3, 4, or 7 night stays, or combinations.

  • 7 Night Stays: Wednesday to Wednesday, or Sunday to Sunday
  • 4 Night Stays: Wednesday to Sunday
  • 3 Night Stays: Sunday to Wednesday

* Bird Cabins are available for 3 night stays, commencing Wednesday or Sunday.

If available, all lodge facilities (other than Bird Cabins) may be reserved for shorter stays or other periods, for arrival within 30 days.

All stays commence with dinner on arrival date and end with breakfast on departure date.

Complimentary light lunches are provided for guests arriving early.

Meal Times:

  • Breakfast served between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
  • Dinner between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m.

To allow preparation for incoming guests, checkout will be at 10:00 a.m. on departure date.

Guests may fish on arrival afternoon and until noon on departure day, when boats are to be returned for service.

 

Group Cabins
Eagle, Hawk, Heron, Kingfisher, Loon, Osprey, Owl, Wood Duck & Raven Cabins

Located on its own very private lake-side site, each of these completely outfitted deluxe two, three or four bedroom cabins provide superior comfort, furnishings and facilities for two to eight guests.

Large living areas with stone fireplace, separate dining area and fully equipped kitchen, three piece bath, generous porches, gas barbecue and separate dock.

Eagle, Heron, Osprey, Owl and Raven cabins have 3 bedrooms, two full baths and each accommodate up to 6.
Wood Duck has 4 bedrooms, two full baths and can accommodate up to 8.
Eagle, Heron, Wood Duck, Owl and Osprey have 2 sitting areas.

All Rates include accommodation (all bedding, linen, maid service, etc.) meals, firewood, one boat and 20 H.P. outboard motor (smaller motor in back lakes) for each two adult guests, gasoline (electric trolling motor where required), floatation vests, boat cushions and landing nets, full fishing rights for all Beauchene lakes, and grouse shooting in season. Electric trolling motors, when extra, and Provincial licenses are not included.

Reservations may be required to fish certain lakes.

Transportation to back lakes available at extra charge.


European Plan Outpost Camps

Birch Lake, Foley Bay Island and Beauchêne Beach
Camps open Saturday May 5, close Saturday September 15, 2012

(Available only for 3, 4, or 7 night stays, or combinations. Arrival and departure days are Wednesday and Saturdays.)

  • 7 Night Stays: Wednesday to Wednesday or Saturday to Saturday
  • 4 Night Stays: Saturday to Wednesday
  • 3 Night Stays: Wednesday to Saturday

All stays commence mid-afternoon on arrival date and end mid-morning on departure date when guests will be required to return boats and vacate camp to permit preparation for incoming guests.

Our three outpost camps offer our guests who prefer to do their own cooking the opportunity to enjoy Beauchene in a choice of comfortable cabins in secluded settings.

The Birch Lake and Foley Bay Island camps both accommodate up to 4 and are accessed from the main lodge, Birch Lake by 4x4 or equivalent, and Foley Bay Island by boat.

The Beauchene Beach cabin, which is reached by boat from the Bear Bay Campground, can accommodate larger groups of up to 8.

The Birch Lake and Beauchene Beach cabins have hot and cold running water, indoor toilet and showers. The Beauchene Beach cabin has two complete bathrooms. Because of the limitation of its island site. The Foley Bay Island cabin only has cold water by hand pump at the kitchen sink and the rustic toilet is OUT BACK. There is an attached shower room equipped with a SUN SHOWER.

All camps have docks and are fully equipped with propane ranges, refrigerators and lights, gas barbecues, wood burning stoves for warmth, all necessary utensils, cutlery and tableware, mattresses and pillows with fresh mattress and pillow covers (no other bedding or towels provided).

Rates include accommodation, propane fuel and stove wood, one boat and outboard motor for each 2 guests (other than children), all required gasoline and oil, floatation vests, boat cushions, landing nets, full fishing rights in all Beauchene lakes (reservations required in some lakes) and grouse shooting in season.

Provincial licenses, transportation to other lakes and electric trolling motor (required in some lakes) not included. If required, for round trip transportation by road from lodge to Birch Lake Camp and return in Lodge vehicle, add $80.00.

Rates & Reservations

Special Summer Family Rates

To welcome Family Groups to the lodge,chalets, to any of the outposts or to the Bear Bay Campground, (or canoe tripping) during the summer vacation season we offer special family discounts from Saturday July 2 to Wednesday August 17, 2011. During this period groups of three or less, using one boat – and one bedroom if staying at the Lodge – may deduct 20% from our regular rate. Groups of more than three may deduct 25%.

To qualify as a FAMILY GROUP the party must be related and include at least one guest accompanied by his/her spouse or by at least on child under 18. Two separate Family Groups travelling together (eg. Two couples or two parents both with at least one child under 18) will also qualify and be treated as a single group entitled to the larger discount.


French Lessons

NEW - Conversational French lessons, groups or individual, will be available at the White House, by pre-arrangement, at reasonable cost. Add this useful and enjoyable BUSINESS PURPOSE to your trip. Please inquire before arrival.


Camping, Canoe Trips and Rentals

Please note:

Except for pre-arranged canoe trips, camping is permitted ONLY at the Bear Bay Campground, which opens Wednesday May 4 and closes Sunday September 4, 2011.

Five rustic campsites (no hook-ups) are available.

Picnic table at each site and amenities include: central bathhouse and shower with hot and cold water, flush toilet, fish cleaning house and dock.

Campsite reservations may be required.

Fishing in back lakes is by reservation only.

Please enquire about canoe trip arrangements.

 

Camping/Fishing Packages and Canoe Trips

Rates include campsites and fishing rights for two persons for Lac Beauchene only.

  • Add $50.00 per day for each additional person fishing.
  • Add $15.00 per person per day when fishing in back lakes.

Boat Launching

  • $55.00 per stay
    Including mandatory zebra mussel detoxification, for all guests’ boats. (Please see our fishing rules.)


Boat & Canoe Rental

  • 14’ Aluminum Boat, cushions & P.F.D.S: $40 per day, $240 per 7 days
  • Motor (15 HP) and gasoline: $70 per day, $420 per 7 days
  • 14’ Aluminum Boat with 20 HP motor, fish finder, seats & P.F.D.S and gasoline: $145 per day, $870 per 7 days
  • Canoe, including 2 paddles & cushions: $15 per day, $90 per 7 days
  • Electric Motors: $20 per day, $120 per 7 days
  • Batteries, including nightly recharge: $10 per day, $60 per 7 days

Guides

At Lodge, by reservation only!

  • Per 8 hour day (not including gratuity): $175.00 per group of 2 fishermen

Lake Reservations

The uniqueness of being alone – or virtually so-on our back lakes is one of the special Beauchene experiences.

To help this work, please note:

  1. Reservations may be required for fishing in any of our back lakes, other than Lac Beauchene. Check our website for lake details.
  2. Reservations are generally made on a first-come, first-served basis, and may be made either with your booking or after arrival.
  3. Reservations for the closer lakes may be for part or whole days. Part day reservations are not practical for the more distant lakes.
  4. In order that the HOT SPOTS may be shared, please spread your reservations amongst a number of the lakes.
  5. Please note that in 2007 Fox Lake (Bass) and some of the smaller Brook Trout Lakes will be restricted to fly fishing only.
  6. No live bait or treble hooks will be permitted in Taggart, Johanna, Jeffery or Tank Lakes. All fish must be released in these lakes.
  7. All barbs MUST be squeezed down or removed.

 

Transportation to Back Lakes

Lodge guests using own vehicles are welcome to use, by reservation, boats available at most back lakes or to carry our boats into others, at no charge.

Little Beauchene may also be reached by Lodge guests at no charge by a short portage from Lac Beauchene. Lakes marked * below are accessible by regular automobile, remainder by 4x4 or equivalent, by boat and/or by marked trails. Please inquire.

If round-trip transportation by road to any of the following lakes in Lodge vehicles is required, it may be arranged at an extra charge.

‘VIP’ Guided Hunting for Moose

In 2011 we again will be making available deluxe guided one-week Moose hunting packages! 

Our four guests per week will have access to our 50,000 acre territory during the peak of the rut i.e. September 17-October 1. Guests will stay in “Bird Cabins”, where they will enjoy excellent quarters, great comraderie around the beautiful granite fireplace, and fine meals at the Lodge.

Each hunter will be assigned a “high percentage site” and will be accompanied throughout the hunt by an expert guide, familiar with our territory and the habits of our moose.

The package will include use of the Lodge vehicles, boats and motors when needed, butchering and preparation of meat for the trip home – everything you need for a first class trip, including fishing in between the hunts. (Except your gun and your Quebec hunting and fishing permits and success bonus.)

American Plan Moose Hunt

Unguided moose hunting during last 2 weeks of season available for American Plan Guests at Lodge or Bird Cabins by prearrangement. Rates, same as fishing (does not include your gun, your Quebec hunting permit and success bonus).


European Plan Moose Hunt

Birch Lake, Foley Bay Island and Beauchene Beach Outpost Camps (Last 2 weeks of Season Only)

  • 2 persons - $2640
  • Each Additional Person (2 Max.) - $1150

Rates include accommodation (no bedding or towels), utensils, propane fuel for stoves and refrigerator and an extensive, private territory for each group of two hunters (boats, motors and fuel included where required by area assigned).


Success Bonuses

Successful hunters will be required to pay the following bonuses, weighted to encourage selective harvest:

  • Calf $100.00
  • Bull $250.00
  • Cow $500.00


NOTE:

Minimum 2 Hunters per Moose REQUIRED.
All fees include small game.

Grouse Hunting Only

  • $25.00 per day per gun.

‘VIP’ Spring Bear Hunt / Fishing Package

Baited sites available by reservation only for fishing guest staying at Lodge or at Outposts. Rates in addition to applicable fishing rates and are per person, rifle or bow, including fishing in between the hunts.

ALL AMOUNTS IN CANADIAN FUNDS UNTIL RESERVED.
RATES SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.

 

PAYMENTS:

A 30 % deposit is required to confirm reservation. Deposit is non-refundable, but can be applied to a future trip within one year.

Once confirmation of total in party and number of days is made, along with deposit, final payment will be based on original number in party and number of days, unless management is notified 60 days prior to the reservation date. If deposit is not received by due date as stated on confirmation, reservation will be cancelled without notice.

Final payment is payable 30 days prior to arrival and is not refundable. We accept cash, certified cheques, travelers cheques, Visa, Mastercard and Am Ex.

NOTE:

  • 5% G.S.T. (Canadian Goods & Services Tax) must be added to all payments. 9.5% Quebec sales tax must also be added.
  • All rates in Canadian dollars and exclusive of gratuities.
  • Provincial hunting and fishing licenses are required and are available at Main Lodge and also at Bear Bay campground.
    (2011 Season non-resident fishing license:$63.79, 7 days /$42.79, 3 day /$27.78, season catch and release (no kill) $27.78 including taxes).
